It’s time for a new year in piano. Thanks for the opportunity to teach your child/children. I look forward to accomplishing a lot this year with your help in seeing that the students practice on a regular basis (daily for 30 minutes / 1 hour). Older students should be practicing 1 to 1-1/2 hours daily. Please see that the students bring all of their music, including theory book and World of Music books. Also, please be sure to check their assignment book each week to see what they should be practicing or writing, and to see if there are any schedule changes or festival information that you should know or respond to. Festival information will also be posted on this web site. Students may take a 30 minute, 45 minute or hour lesson. Young students are encouraged to take a 30 minute lesson. Older students should consider the 45 minute or 1 hour lessons. If you want to change from 30 to 45 minute lessons, please let me know ASAP before I get my fall schedule in order. All tuition is due on the 1st of the month. Some have asked if they can pay ahead, multiple months. Yes you may and it will be listed as a credit. You will receive a statement each month showing how much is left on your credit. Please call me when you are going to be out so that I can put another student into that spot. Even though makeup lessons are not guaranteed, I do try to get the student in, because we need that time to work together on their music. There will be no makeup for a student who just doesn’t show up to a lesson or calls right before the lesson. As far as festivals and competitions are concerned, I do not pay the fee for your child until I collect the fee. If you see a fee on your bill for a festival and you pay it, that tells me that your child is available to attend. If you do not pay it, I will know that you have a conflict. Once I pay the fee, I cannot get it back, so please be sure you can attend before you pay the entry fee. Thanks, again, for allowing me to teach your child/children. They are a joy to teach.
